Fisherman's Pub - Feb 2009

A new place...The Fisherman's Pub.

The crowd waxed and waned through the night but the response was positive - giving DS a foothold in the now limited Ithaca music scene. (For those of you old enough to remember, it seemed like there was a live band on every streetcorner in the early 80's!)

Late January 2009

First times and a return...

The DS show at Argyle's Easy Street marked a return to a familiar place for Rob who had played there continuously throughout the 90's and the oughts with country and rock bands. It also was also the first time that DS had been to Easy Street and back in the Cortland area in over a year.

Bob Argyle, a musician and business man was pleased and enjoyed the varied set list.

We'll be back...

Early January 2009

January brought a new phase of the DS story. With two newer members, the return of Rob on the keys and new / old places to play.

New Year's Eve 2008

Timing is everything.

So is the ability to keep a secret.

Via e-mail, Karen and Rob hatched a plan to surprise the band. The odds were against it but there was a slim window of chance that Rob would be able to get back to NY early from Afghanistan - on New Years's eve.

With a little help from the owner of Calico Jack's, Rob snuck in through the side entrance and hung out in the kitchen up to the start of the New Year's Eve show. Karen wandered from the stage and in the shadows handed her wireless mike off to Rob who at the first strains of "We're an American Band" began singing much to the surprise of Tim and Neil. (Brian and Tim W. had yet to meet Rob in person...)


Here's to a rockin' 2009 and a tip of the glass to Chris and Larry.

January 2008 - Seebers

This was the last show of 2008 for Rob before his departure for Afghanistan and the last time that the primary line-up would be together.

A bittersweet evening.
